Rengo Packaging, Inc. (RPI) was formed on June 1, 2011 when Rengo Co., Ltd. of Japan purchased the assets of Hawaii Box & Packaging, Inc. (HBP). All employees of HBP were retained and the company continues a steady growth in providing the Hawaii market with a variety of packaging products.
Rengo Co., Ltd, with Corporate headquarters located in Osaka, Japan has facilities throughout East Asia and is the oldest and largest Containerboard Packaging business in Asia. Rengo has manufacturing operations in Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the United States of America (Hawaii).

Jim Keller, President: Jim has spent his whole career in the forest products and packaging industry. He started with Weyerhaeuser Company in 1974 and retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2008. During his career with Weyerhaeuser he roles included plant general manager, Regional Vice President and for his last 10 years he was Senior Vice President of the Containerboard Packaging and Recycling Business. With the closure of the Weyerhaeuser facility on Oahu in 2008, Jim formed a distribution company in Honolulu, Hawaii Box and Packaging. With the subsequent purchase of Hawaii Box and Packaging by Rengo in 2011, Jim was hired by Rengo to build the current plant in Kapolei. He has been President of Rengo Packaging since 2016.
Midori Oka, Executive Vice President: Midori has over 30 years of experience in paperboard and corrugated businesses, especially 10 years of experience in investors relations with Rengo Co., Ltd. in Japan.
Manu Bermudes, Senior Vice President: Manu is a seasoned Human Resources Professional with over 25 years of experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. A leader in all areas of HR management, she carries the credentials of SCP, SPHR and LRCP. Manu has been identified as part of RPI's succession plan in becoming its new General Manager. Manu's ability to collaboratively partner with all functional leaders in areas such as, Integrated People Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership & Development, allows her to work strategically in implementing workforce strategies, resulting in higher productivity and increased efficiency.
Nobuaki Ito, Factory Manager: Nobuaki's experience includes Maintenance and production control, Production Manager/Technical Adviser in Indonesia at Surya Rengo Containers, Rengo Japan Eniwa and Asahikawa plant, Production Manager, Rengo Japan Osaka Head office, Production manage, Production adviser in China. In addition, Nobuaki has more than 15 years of production management experiences.
Katsuya Watanabe, Sales & Marketing Manager: Katsuya has over 20 years of experience in Sales, specifically in corrugated and folding carton businesses with Rengo Co., Ltd in Japan.
Gordon Lindo, Production Manager: Gordon has over 30 years of extensive experience in the packaging industry, and has served in many roles within the production department. With his extensive experience and knowledge, Gordon contributes to all aspects of our operations.
Kelly Kam, Customer Service & Planning Manager: Kelly leads a team of customer service professionals with extensive experience in the packaging industry. In addition to her experience with Customer Service, Kelly also has experience in production planning.
Ines Wells, Controller: Ines is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and has 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting. She spent many years in the Insurance Industry before she joined Rengo Packaging in 2015. As Controller, Ines supports all financial aspects of the organization. Ines is also a licensed Notary in the State of Hawaii
Kekoa Aiu, Account Manager : Kekoa is an experienced business consultant and sales professional with over 13 years of packaging experience and over 20 years of selling experience. Kekoa's territories include Oahu.
Emmi Meyer, Account Manager : Emmi begins her sales career with over 10 years of customer service and internal selling experience in the packaging industry. Emmi's territories include Oahu and Kauai.
Dean Yamamoto, Account Manager : Dean is an experienced business consultant and sales professional with over 13 years of packaging experience and over 20 years of selling experience. Dean's territories include Oahu and Maui.
Scott Werny, Senior Design Engineer: Scott has been designing innovative packaging for over 28 years. Scott has produced numerous national award-winning designs that effectively market customer products and provide superior strength and protection throughout the distribution chain.
